Cottage Blog...
So its midnight on Friday… I mean Saturday… well whatever... Mom isn’t letting me go to bed. She sleeps through the day and is up all night talking to me. Yay! for the laptop. Since I have no net up here, not even dial up, I have nothing to amuse me at this hour at night except mom reading the newspaper to me. She’s reading me the “The Haliburton County Echo”. It’s the funniest thing ever the things they write about. Like the way you should know everyone in the county…
“Congratulations to Margaret Milne on graduation from Sir Sanford Fleming’s Expressive Art Course… However Jim and Maggie were in Thunder Bay for the wedding of Jim’s niece Paula on that day. The Van Del family, Susan (Milne), Henry and the boys were also present from their home in Fort France.”
Then it goes on about more people and their lives. A whole article about different people in the community and what’s happened to them this week! Like you wonder why in small towns everyone knows everything about you! It’s great! LOL! Maybe it’s just funnier cause of the hour. Or maybe I used to know what it was like when I lived in the little town of Pefferlaw, when everyone knew everyone and their business.
So anyway, today dad and I headed out to Minden this afternoon. Of course on the way is Bryson’s Marina (where dad bought the pontoon boat). So we stopped in. My crazy father and his toys, he’s looking to get ANOTHER! Boat. I think he’s completely crazy but hey, I’m not going to complain! He wants a fishing boat. I guess the pontoon boat isn’t good enough for fishing or something?? So, after we stopped in there, the whole point of going to Minden was for me to get my ice cream. So we hit the Kwaratha Dairy and dad got Sugar Shack Maple and I got Campfire Marshmallow. My plan, as some of you know might have read in previous blogs, is to have a different type of ice cream every time I go. So I thought I’d start with the beginning of the list. But! I got to the list and the first ones were vanilla, chocolate and Strawberry, so I decided to start at the bottom. They have many new flavours since I’ve last been and I’m very excited about the rest of my summer ice creaming! Hehe!!
So tomorrow around three I’m heading home, try and beat some weekend traffic. Leave on a Saturday rather than the Sunday. I’m going to stop into the dairy on the way home and pick up some ice cream for Lisa upon request. Of course I’ll get some for me as well (duh!!). I’m getting cold now, maybe because it’s only 9 degrees or maybe cause I’m tired now so I’m going to bed. Happy Canada Day to all!!
