Test Drive #3..
So! Thursday was the test drive of the Lexus GS300 I liked it.. alot! New styling to it makes it look amazing! Dad had it in the red. Looked amazing from the outside! Then we got in. We as in mom, dad, Laura and I. Dad and Laura went to the back. I went to the passenger seat. Then mom went to drive. Then decided she wasnt going to drive. So dad went to the front, Sat 3/4 of the way and said Lee u drive. So I moved to the drivers seat. A bunch of crazies I tell you! Finally, figure out how to turn the car on. I saw the button thing right away. It's very COOL! No keys. I thought I was all smart and push it on to start the car. No sound of the engine. Dad (that is somehow in the back seat again) says "Lee, put your foot on the brake. Then try again." DOH! So then I go to change my mirrors. Instead of it being on the door u push this little button and a thing pops out with more buttons to change everything around. The one amazing thing I really liked about this car is that 90% of it is buttons. But they're extremely simplified and easy to reach and acess, and figure out! The other cars, dad were all over the place and not very driver friendly, in the way that if you were driving it you couldn't watch the road. It also has a touch screen rather then the little nobby things. I liked that alot better as well! In the Acura dad couldn't figure out how to turn the air on and in the BMW we couldnt figure out how to turn the radio on. Anyways! The seats were comfy. I didnt feel like I had to sit right up to the dash like the BMW. I know this isnt usually a big thing but, considering my father is 6'2 but I'm only 5'1 so it gave use a good comparison. So in the end, these cars were all amazing to drive. Obviously. It was hard to really compare. They all have good horsepower ranging from 245@ 62,000 rpm (Lexus) to 300@ 62,00 rpm. and carry a good smooth ride all in all. I found that the lexus was a little choppy on its gear shifting and when I was in manual was a little fast on the shifts compared to the Acura. The BMW I was surprised it was low at 215@ 61,100 rpm. But I didn't really feel it struggle in the least like the others did a little.
So, all in all the Acura RL and the Lexus GS300 are in the running. And the BMW Surprisingly wasn't the one I really liked. It's excellent car if you need to get somewhere fast. Maybe turn the 407ETR into the Autobahn and it would be great for that. but the seats weren't comfortable, and I found it really closed in and hard to see out of. But that might be because I was squished against the wheel.
